the end of the internship, students will have a better understanding of Modell’s customer base,
contributed towards numerous projects and learned more about the day-to-day responsibilities within their
assigned department.
Responsibilities:
 Learn key functional areas of the business such as financial analysis, purchase order processing
and tracking
 Increase your understanding of the coordination between functional areas to deliver the best
business results
 Work closely with management, customers and associates to maximize business potential
 Analyze business trends and track sales and inventory
 Pursue professional development through hands-on learning
 Participate in meetings with cross functional partners
 Gain an understanding of the role of Merchandising, Planning or Allocation in the product lifecycle
 Learn more about the day to day tasks accomplished by an Analyst including PO entry, business
analysis, store visits, etc
 Place and track orders on top selling styles to ensure the department reaches maximum sales
capacity
 Analyze slow selling merchandise and make recommendations on markdowns
 Provide research, maintenance, and support for assigned departmental projects and tasks as
assigned
 Participate and provide feedback in group meetings and discussions if applicable

 Strong academic record
 Detail oriented individual with strong organizational, communication, time management and
interpersonal skills.
 Strong analytical and problem solving skills
 Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
 Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
 “Can do” attitude and ability to promote teamwork
 Knowledge and love of sports
